Ioannides, George
George is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Studies in Religion at the University of Sydney. He is writing a thesis at the interdisciplinary nexus of animal studies and frameworks of postsecular analysis. It seeks to challenge the methodological norms and suppositions that have attended the study of religion, discourse, materiality, and film at the important junctures of some of the recent trends in critical cultural theory and environmental philosophy to do with human-animal relations, ecocinema, the new materialism, and various posthuman conceptualisations of human and nonhuman embodiment. George is the University of Sydney Human Animal Research Network (HARN) Postgraduate Representative for 2015.
